EVENT RECAPS
Mardi Gras Cocktail Party
Symphony Guild members and guests enjoyed a festive Mardi Gras celebration on February 17 in the beautiful Weaver Room of the Proximity Hotel. The evening featured delicious New Orleans style appetizers and desserts, beautiful table settings with colorful florals and bright beads, and a special visit from Chelsea Tipton, Principal Guest Conductor of the GSO and a hometown favorite. The ladies and gents came ready to celebrate, as evidenced by their lively attire and festive headdresses.
President Gigi Renaud welcomed the group and reviewed upcoming Guild activities, including the March Education Concerts, member socials at sponsors GIA and Steinway Piano Gallery, the annual Love ‘N Music Tennis and Pickleball Tournament with Luncheon and Fashion Show at Starmount Forest Country Club, and the end of the year membership meeting and cocktail party. Gigi also announced the results of a successful membership drive, which included the addition of 18 new members. Maestro Tipton recapped the successful Valentine Pops Concert and invited everyone to enjoy the upcoming Masterworks and Pops performances.
Special thanks to Guild sponsor Lancôme, which provided complimentary makeup sessions prior to the festivities, and to event co chairs Jan Cox and Bonnie Cienek for creating a memorable gathering.
