Mardi Gras Party – Event Recap!

Kayla HineNews

Symphony Guild members and guests enjoyed a festive Mardi Gras celebration on February 17 in the beautiful Weaver Room of the Proximity Hotel. The evening featured delicious New Orleans-style appetizers and dessert, beautiful table settings complete with colorful florals and bright-colored beads, and a special visit by Chelsea Tipton, Principal Guest Conductor of the GSO and hometown favorite. The ladies and gents came ready to party, as evidenced by their lively attire and headdresses.

President Gigi Renaud welcomed the group and reviewed upcoming Guild activities, including the March Education Concerts; member socials at sponsors GIA and Steinway Piano Gallery; the annual Love ‘N Music Tennis and Pickleball Tournament with Luncheon/Fashion Show at Starmount Forest Country Club; and the End of the Year membership meeting and cocktail party. Gigi also announced the results of a successful membership drive, including the addition of 18 new members. Maestro Tipton recapped the successful Valentine Pops Concert and invited all present to enjoy upcoming performances, including Masterworks and Pops.

Special thanks to Guild sponsor Lancome, who provided complimentary makeup sessions prior to the festivities, and to event co-chairs Jan Cox and Bonnie Cienek for creating a memorable gathering!
