The
GSO Guild is successful because of YOU, our volunteer-minded
members. There are multitudes of ways to volunteer,
from one-time, one-hour commitments to long-term, big
project commitments. Listed below are just a few of the
many opportunities for service that we have available.
The
GSO office needs helpful hands and willing spirits! There
are always tasks to be done, such as preparing mailings
and answering the phone. Please consider serving the
Symphony in this way. Come alone or with friends and
have fun while you work. Contact gsooffice@gsoguild.org
Guild volunteers ushered
in more than 12,000 students
at the March 2007 and April 2008
Elementary School Concerts
Music
in the Middle
Elementary
Concerts
We always need volunteers to help
usher the students into the War Memorial Auditorium.
The theme of the concerts this year should leave the
students, and you, rocking! Maestro Bruce Kiesling always
plans an entertaining as well as educational program
for the students, and the theme this year is “Beethoven
Rocks.” We guarantee you will have fun while you
provide a much needed service. Contact musicinthemiddle@gsoguild.org
Meals
for Musicians: Do you love to cook for crowds and get
rave reviews no matter what you have served? (Or do you
know how to order and pick up food?) Then we invite you
to help prepare a dinner for our orchestra members during
rehearsal breaks prior to each concert. This also gives
you the opportunity to get to know our musicians on a
personal level and to get a preview of the exciting concert
to come. Contact meals@gsoguild.org for
more details.
Women’s Chorus: Come sing with us!
The Women’s
Chorus is looking for enthusiastic voices who love to
share the joy of music. No audition is required, just an
eagerness to be part of a dynamic, fun group who perform
a variety of programs for the community. All ages welcome!
Volunteer opportunities
are available in Education, Women’s
Chorus, Fundraising, Symphony Support, Marketing and Publicity,
Hospitality, and Membership Development. Contact the
Chairperson for any of these areas. For more information,
